Weekend Analytics for Oct 9-11

The weekend estimates has been released. (My predictions in brackets)

1.) Couples Retreat – $35.3M (20.0 M)

I saw the trailer and it looked decent at best. A good $35M for Vince Vaughn and Company.

2.)Zombieland – $15.0M ($17.5M)

I most say I’m glad to see Zombieland doing so well for the sake of “smartish” comedies and also for Jesse Eisenberg since Adventureland was a stinker commerically.

3.)Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 3-D $12.0M  ($12.5)  [Good Hair placed 11th with $1.5M]

This move came from no-where, I am still amazed at how well this is doing. Good Hair had a limited release.

4.) Paranormal Activity $7.0M [The Invention of Lying placed 7th with 3.3M]

Seems to be the sleeper hit, pulling in a $49,000 theater average.

5.)Toy Story / Toy Story 2 (3D) – $7.M (12.5 M)

Typical Pixar (’nuff said)
